Evaluating the Role of Paracetamol in Alleviating Symptoms of Upper Respiratory Infections

Background: Fever is a very common adaptive immune response in acute respiratory tract disorders during infancy. Antipyretic / analgesic drugs such as paracetamol (acetaminophen) are widely used to improve the comfort of child. Objective: To determine efficacy symptomatic relief upper infections children aged 2 5 years. Study Design: Descriptive case series Setting: Department Pediatrics, Ayub Teaching Hospital, Abbottabad Duration study: Six months from October 13, 2020, April 2021 Subjects and methods: All years either gender having duration symptoms >2 days were consecutively enrolled. Patients prescribed Paracetamol dose 10 mg/kg/dose 6 hourly for 3 days. followed up after see infections. Results: Of 284 children, mean age was 4.01 ±1.10 There 135 (47.5%) males 149 (52.5%) females. The weight 12.36 ±3.42 kg. 5.11 ±0.95 infection found be 184 (64.8%). A non-significant difference observed with (p-value 0.578), 0.908), (pvalue 0.586), 0.872). Practical Implication: This study planned results this could owing locally produced evidence.
